Namiseom or Nami Island is a small crescent-shaped island located in Chuncheon, South Korea, shaped as it was flooded by the rising waters in the North Han River because of the dam Cheongpyeong in 1944. Its name derives from General Nami, who died at the age of 28 after being falsely accused of treason during the reign of King Sejo, the seventh king of the Joseon Dynasty of Korea.
