Punalu’u Beach also known as Black Sand Beach located on the Big Island of the U.S. state of Hawaii. Punaluu is one of the black sand beaches are the most popular destination in Hawaii. The black sand is actually the remnant of molten lava flowing into the sea and cooled rapidly.
This volcanic activity is in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

The waters here are protected by the small cove and the black sand is soft and welcoming. The swimming area is very rocky, and it can be dangerous to swim. The beach also has a large amount of underground fresh water that flows in it. Punaluu is a perfect place to enjoy the scenery, Swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, picnics, shore fishing, explore the black sand beach, watch the sea turtles. Punaluu is frequented by endangered Hawksbill and Green turtles, which can often be seen basking on the black sand. Punaluu Beach provide nice areas for relaxing, particularly on weekdays when this beach is often uncrowded.
